Global Organic Textile Standard

Sapphire International Ltd. is the first woven terry mill in Greater China to be certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard.  Better known as GOTS, this standard ensures that products are manufactured in an environmentally sustainable and ethical manner throughout the supply chain.

The standard was created by the International Working Group in an effort to harmonize the many standards that have been created in Europe, the U.S. and Japan.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100

Sapphire International Ltd. is certified for the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (for baby articles) made from 100% Cotton natural colour raw and dyed and finished fabrics.

The Oeko-Tex Standard was introduced over 15 years ago in response to consumer's demands for safe textiles.  Developed using the existing standards of the Austrian Textile Research Institute and the German Hohenstein Research Institute, Oeko-Tex provides uniform and scientifically based testing procedures.  Through its global certification system, consumers can be sure that products bearing the Oeko-Tex label are safe from harmful chemicals.
